WHAT IS IPL?
IPL stands for Intense Pulse Light. It's a process where the IPL discharges light of many different wavelengths, like a photo flash.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The IPL handset is directed onto your skin in little pulses, targeting and heating up the hair follicle to get rid of a portion of it with each treatment. Over time, with repeated treatments, the hairs grow back less frequently and finer.
WHO IS IPL SUITABLE FOR?
The IPL handsets can be used by all genders.
DOES THE IPL HANDSET WORK ON ALL SKIN COLORS?
Our IPL handset works for most skin colors, but DO NOT USE if your skin is darker than the skin tone chart below. Very dark skin can absorb too much light energy from IPL devices, and harm your skin.

I HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN. HOW CAN I SEE IS THE IPL HANDSET IS SUITABLE FOR ME?
It's best to use a skin test for the first time using the IPL Handset. That way you can confirm there is no adverse reaction before using the handset on a regular basis. For your first time on a try it on a certain body area or a test patch. The test area should be about 1in x 1in. You should try from the lowest gear and gradually build up to higher gears over several treatments.
DOES THE IPL HANDSET WORK ON ALL HAIR COLORS?
IPL depends on melanin within the hair absorbing the light energy, and thus IPL is not as effective on exceptionally light blonde, red, or grey hair.
WHAT ABOUT EYE SAFETY?
Just like any lighting device such as tanning beds, phototherapy, red light therapy or flashlights, looking directly into the light will harm your eyes.
IPL devices releases flashes of Intense Pulsed Light. Direct exposure can potentially cause harm to your eyes. Mind the security safety measures below:
- DO NOT look straight into the treatment window of the handset
- DO NOT attempt to activate the flash system towards the eye
- DO NOT treat areas around the eye such as your eyebrows or eyelashes
- ONLY turn on the flash system when the front of the handset is in good contact with the zone you want to treat.
- The IPL isn't suggested for utilization on male facial hair unless you want permanent results
SHOULD I WEAR I PROTECTION?
Eye protection is recommended. If you choose not to use eye protection goggles, then DO NOT look directly into the light as it flashes. Make sure the front of the handset is in good contact with the zone you want to treat.
DOES IPL HURT?
Most people describe the feeling as a warm sensation and tingling on the skin
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY IPL TREATMENT? ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
Some people will experience mild redness on the skin (similar to a sunburn). This is often typical while using the IPL handset. The redness will usually disappear within 24 to 48 hours after use.
HOW OFTEN CAN I USE IT?
A typical treatment plan involves using the IPL once a week for 12 weeks and after this initial 12 week treatment, using once a month until you are happy with the results.
For ongoing maintenance of your new, we recommend using the IPL every 2-3 months as needed. Keep in mind that IPL works on the hair when it is growing, so once per week is the maximum that will be effective (no need to do more than once per week).
HOW LONG BEFORE I SEE RESULTS?
Depending on your skin and hair type, results vary for each person but you will usually notice a reduction of hair after 3-4 treatments, with many customers seeing complete results after 10-12 treatments.
SHOULD PEOPLE WITH EPILEPSY USE THE IPL HANDSET DEVICE?
No. People with Epilepsy should NOT use this product as the IPL has a bright flash which could possibly trigger an episode
CAN I USE THE IPL HANDSET ON BROWN OR BLACK SPOTS?
DO NOT use directly on brown or black spots such as birthmarks, moles or warts. You can use the device AROUND those dark spots, but not directly on those spotsIS IT OKAY TO USE ON SKIN DISORDERS SUCH AS PSORIASIS, VITILIGO, ECZEMA, OR LICHEN PLANUS?
DO NOT use if you have skin disorders such as psoriasis, vitiligo, eczema, or lichen planus. You can use the device around the spots, but not directly on the spots where you have those skin disorders. If you're still not sure if you can use the IPL handset or not, then seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider. Present them with any questions you may have regarding your specific skin disorder.
IS IT OKAY TO USE THE IPL DEVICE IF I HAVE A SUNBURN OR A CUT?
DO NOT use on damaged skin such as sunburn or cuts. Wait until your sunburn or cut is healed before using it on the specific area you want to treat
I'M A MIXED MARTIAL ARTIST AND SOMETIMES I GET MAT BURN OR GLOVE BURN ON MY BODY. IS IT OKAY TO USE THE DEVICE?
DO NOT use on damaged skin such as mat burn or glove burn. Wait until your your mat burn or glove burn is healed before using it on the specific area you want to treat. It is recommenced that you treat AROUND the damaged area.
IS THE IPL HAND TO OKAY TO USE IF I HAVE VARICOSE VEINS ON SOME PARTS OF MY BODY?
DO NOT us if you have varicose veins in the area you wish to treat.
IS IT OKAY TO USE ON MY TATTOOES OR PERMANENT MAKEUP?
DO NOT use on tattooed or permanent makeup on the area you wish to treat. The light will be attracted to the darker pigment in the skin and may cause irritation and blistering and can damage the tattoo.
CAN I USE THE IPL HANDSET BEFORE OR AFTER MY TANNING SESSION?
If you have been tanning recently, we must recommend waiting 2 weeks before using your handset. Please also wait at least 48 hours to tan after using your handset. Artificial tan should also not be on your skin whilst using your handset.
CAN I USE THE IPL DEVICE IF I HAVE A PHOTOSENSITIVITY DISORDER OR TAKING MEDICATIONS THAT MAKE SKIN MORE SENSITIVE?
DO NOT USE if you're taking medications that make skin more sensitive and causes photosensitivity such as Retin A, Accutane, and other topical retinoids.
CAN I USE IPL OVER FRECKLES?
Light freckles are okay, but you should avoid very dark freckles and moles.
SHOULD I USE THE DEVICE IF I HAVE POLYCYSTIC OVARY SYNDROME (PCOS)?
IPL can be used on hormonal hair growth, and has been proven as quite effective as a treatment. Contact your doctor or medical professional for to see if it's okay for you to use the IPL handset.
I NOTICED A SLIGHT DARKENING IN THE IPL LIGHT, IS THAT OKAY?
Due to the intense light produced, there is also some heat generated which may cause the light to blacken slightly. This is normal and the unit's performance will not be affected by this.
THERE'S A SLIGHT BURNING SMELL?
This is completely normal and usually occurs when there is still some hair that hasn't been shaved. It's important to thoroughly prepare the area before starting the IPL treatment as per the instructions.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CLEAN THE HANDSET?
We recommend cleaning after each use to ensure it lasts a long time and performance is not affected. Ensure it is powered off before cleaning with alcohol wipes/antibacterial product and then storing in a cool, dry place.
WHAT AGE IS THE IPL SUITABLE FOR?
This IPL handset is suitable for adults 18 and up.
DO I NEED TO SHAVE BEFORE USING THE IPL?
Yes, we recommend you shave the areas prior to treating, ensuring no hair remains. As the IPL works by targeting the hair follicle, it's important that you only shave (Do not wax/pluck the area, as this will reduce the effectiveness of the IPL).
WHICH HAIR REMOVAL METHODS CAN I USE BETWEEN IPL SESSIONS?
Between IPL treatments, we recommend only shaving if necessary. Any waxing/plucking will remove the hair follicle and limit the effectiveness of your IPL treatments.
ARE THERE ADDITIONAL COSTS OR FEES?
No, with your purchase our IPL handset, you have everything your need, with no requirment for replacements or refills.
CAN I USE IPL WHILE PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING?
We strongly suggest to seek advice from your doctor or a medical professional. While there is no proof of IPL having negative results for pregnant & breastfeeding women, we suggest that you don't use the handset as a safety precaution.
HOW IS THE HANDSET POWERED?
Our handsets are not cordless and need to be plugged into the power supply to ensure maximum effectiveness.
DOES IPL REMOVE HAIR PERMANENTLY?
While it's semi-permanent, all IPL treatments will require maintenance over time as the hair generally will start growing back. After the initial 12 week treatment, most users only need to use the handset every 2-3 months to maintain!
CAN I SHARE THE HANDSET WITH SOMEONE ELSE?
We recommend using your own device to ensure you maintain the setting and cleanliness of your own handset.
